Professional associations

As a freelance translator, I find it important to be a member of professional associations. Firstly, because it keeps you in touch with colleagues and keeps you aware of what developments are going on in the market, for example in the field of technology. Secondly, because you can attend interesting workshops and continuing education through these kinds of professional associations. That is why I am a member of NGTV (Nederlands Genootschap van Tolken en Vertalers and of SENSE (Society of English-language professionals in the Netherlands).
